What types of electrical emergencies are most common in UK homes?

Common electrical emergencies in UK homes include power cuts that affect a significant portion of your home, burning smells from sockets or wiring, flickering lights due to wiring faults, tripped circuits that won’t reset, and exposed live wires. If you encounter any of these, it’s crucial to contact us immediately. Remember, your safety is our top priority.

Does this cover include faults with consumer units (fuse boxes)?

It is covered if your consumer unit (commonly called a fuse box) develops a fault affecting your 240-volt supply. However, the emergency repair cover does not include upgrading, replacing or improving old consumer units to meet current regulations.

Are external lighting and garden sockets included?

Our cover typically focuses on the permanent internal wiring and 240-volt supply inside your home. External fittings such as garden lighting or outbuilding sockets are not usually included unless they form part of your permanent fixed wiring and are fully compliant with UK electrical regulations. Check your policy wording for exact details.

Who will carry out the electrical repairs?

Rest assured, all electrical work is carried out by fully qualified and certified electricians. Our engineers are trained to handle emergency faults safely and in line with the latest UK electrical safety standards. Your safety is our top priority.
