Things to Check Before Contacting Us

Before reaching out for a repair, there are a few things you can check:

  • Ensure the boiler pressure is at the correct level. Low pressure affects performance.
  •  Check if the thermostat is set correctly and is working.
  • Verify that all power supplies are connected. Disrupted power can cause a boiler breakdown.
  • Try resetting the system; this may resolve minor issues.

If these checks don’t fix the problem, our team is here to help.

Common Boiler Problems We Solve

Power Light Blowing: If your boiler’s power light keeps blowing, it could be due to an electrical fault within the boiler, such as a fuse issue or a problem with the wiring.

Strange Boiler Noises: Unusual sounds like banging, whistling, or gurgling may indicate trapped air, low water pressure, or a malfunctioning component.

Boiler Turning Off: If your boiler keeps shutting off, it could be caused by low water pressure, thermostat issues, or a blockage in the system.

Thermostat Problems: A faulty thermostat can result in your boiler not responding correctly or maintaining the wrong temperature.

Boiler Losing Pressure: Low boiler pressure can be caused by a leak or a problem with the pressure relief valve, which can affect the boiler’s performance.

No Heating or Hot Water: If you’re not getting any heating or hot water, the problem may lie with the pilot light, valve, or thermostat.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do you repair all types of boilers?

Our engineers can repair natural gas boilers in your home. However, our boiler eligibility rules will confirm if we can assist you with the repair for your specific boiler make and model.

What if I have multiple issues?

The initial non-insurance repair doesn’t include any unrelated faults. We’ll quote separately for other work needed for unrelated faults. This may happen if, for example, you call us for an emergency boiler repair but also ask us to fix a leaking radiator.

What if I want to cancel my repair?

Please note that once we’ve started the job, you will no longer be able to cancel it and will be liable for any costs. You have 14 days to cancel your one-off repair. This 14-day period is your cooling-off period, which will begin from the day your one-off repair is accepted.

What if I want to cancel my cover policy?

Your My Heating 12-month insurance policy will run alongside your non-insurance one-off repair and if you choose to cancel the policy after the repair and within the first 12-month period, you will be expected to repay the remainder of the balance due to us having deducted the monthly payments you have made to date.

Is it worth repairing a boiler?

It depends upon your situation. Let’s say you bought a new boiler and don’t have a landlord cover or boiler cover in place (these generally provides cover for emergency gas boiler repair). So, in that case, first of all check whether your boiler remains under manufacturer warranty.

If it’s not under warranty, then a one-off boiler repair could be an option to consider. For ongoing boiler breakdown protection, you could consider our repair and cover option or any of our annual insurance policies.

Is it worth repairing a 10-year-old boiler?

If your Boiler is more than ten years old, it could suffer from ongoing boiler breakdowns and is likely to be less efficient than a new boiler, so could mean more expensive energy bills. Replacing an older boiler can be the more cost effective solution, depending on your personal circumstances. If you find replacing your Boiler expensive, you can also get a boiler on finance.

How long will it take for my boiler to be repaired?

Once you give us a call or book an appointment with us, we aim for our engineers to attend your property within the next 2 days. The duration of the repairing process will be dependent on the complexity of your boiler problem. If parts are required, this may extend the time taken to fix your problem.

In which locations does 24|7 offers boiler repair?

Our boiler repair services are available in major cities across the country, including Glasgow, Edinburgh, London, Birmingham, Manchester and all over mainland England, Scotland and Wales.
